Jovian Wilson Obituary

JEFFERSONVILLE - Jovian Neshobe Wilson, 31, died suddenly on the evening of Thursday, November 12, 2009, from complications related to asthma. His adoring wife, Jessica, tried desperately to save him.

Jovian was born at home on August 24, 1978, in Goshen, Vt., the son of Michael and Melody (Jones) Wilson. He was a graduate of Otter Valley Union High School Class of 1996 and attended Franklin Pierce College. On May 29, 2004, Jovian married his teenage sweetheart, Jessica Ellen Conti.

Jovian is survived by his heartbroken and adoring wife, Jessica Ellen Conti Wilson of Jeffersonville; his two baby daughters, Hayden Ellen Wilson, 2 years old, and Devin Caroline Wilson, 4 months old; his parents, Michael and Melody Wilson of Goshen; his brother, Caber Wilson of Goshen; his brother, Peter McLaughlin of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Helen Wilson of Tucson, Ariz.; his parents-in-law, Earl and Penny Conti of Woodbridge, Conn.; his sister-in-law, Christina Conti Wethington, her husband William, and their children Matthew and Tyler Wethington, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jovian was predeceased by his best friend, Tad Goldberg, and his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Betty Jones.

Jovian was a loyal employee of Stowe Mountain Resort where he worked at Spruce Peak Golf Course and groomed the gorgeous Stowe trails.

All who knew and loved Jovian will remember his excited eyes and smile, his love of his wife and babies, Jessica, Hayden and Devin, and his love of music, particularly Phish.

"Home is where I want to be, But I guess I'm already there, I come home, she lifted up her wings, Guess that this must be the place, I can't tell one from another, Did I find you, or you find me? There was a time before we were born, if someone asks, this is where I'll be, where I'll be." David Byrne.

A funeral service celebrating Jovian's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, 2 Cherry St., Burlington, Vt., with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jovian's memory may be sent to the "Education Fund for Hayden and Devin Wilson," in care of TD Bank, 111 Main St., Burlington, VT 05401. Arrangements are in the care of the Ready Funeral Services.

Jessica,

You're in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The following passage is one of my favorites and over time, it will become a bit easier. Remember all the wonderful memories the two of you had and more so after the birth of your two daughters. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything.

Psalm 23
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I met Jovian in the winter of 03 at Pico. I have great memories of secretly riding up in his cat to ski by moonlight. We would listen to Phish all the way up. Though I only saw him a few times in the last few years, we always remained friends. He will be remembered tonight during the Monday Nite Phish show on 89.1 KHOL Jackson Hole, WY. We will listen to the same old shows we used to play in the cat, buddy.

Dear Mike, Mel, Caber, Peter and Jessica,
Our family is so sad to hear the news of Jovian. There is nothing we can say to ease the sorrow of losing a loved one...especially in the prime of his life. We were just recently looking at camp 'theme' parties and laughing over our costumes..... Remember Jovian with his hula outfit? Great memories....deeply sad time. We pray you can find comfort from each other and those beautiful little girls....

Always no words to truly express the feelings of loss; when I heard, all I remember are the great memories of "the boys" growing up together,so many close friends;as they all kept in touch through the years. My heart hurts. Miah & I will be there for the memorial. Love, Sissy

Aunt Mel, Uncle Mike, Peter and Caber,

I was so shocked to hear of Jovian's passing and am so very sorry for your loss. Robin and I were just watching the Christmas video we made Grandma Jones back in about '87. I was sad to see my Uncle Larry in that video after his passing but happy to remember the good times. I am sure next time we take a trip down memory lane and watch the video again I will feel the same way about Jovian. I will never forget all the good laughs we had at the Jones family Christmas parties and family reunions at Aunt Kaye's camp. I hope those memories will help you through these difficult times.
