Lawrence Fusco Obituary

BRANDON - Lawrence Joseph "Lary" Fusco, age 63, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

Lary was born in Rutland on April 27th, 1947. He was the son of Arvido and Gladys (Vladyka) Fusco. He grew up in Rutland and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy, class of 1965. He received a degree in business administration from Syracuse University, class of 1969. Lary worked as a production manager at 3M, Kors and G.H. Grimm. He was a past member of the Brandon Rotary Club, the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce, the Proctor Fish & Game Club and the Brandon Rescue Squad. He was a Shriner and a member of Masonic Lodge #79 in Rutland. He spent his days surrounded by the friends he loved, both in Vermont and in York Beach, Maine. Lary will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is his wife, Marie Barrett Fusco of Brandon, whom he married on August 9th, 1969, at Christ the King Church in Rutland; a daughter, Keri (Fusco) DiLeo, her husband Mike and son Joseph of Sudbury, Mass.; a brother, Ron Fusco, his wife Amy and daughter Rachel of Saipan, Mariana Islands; a sister, Arvina Fusco Westcot, and her husband Tom of Vienna, Va.; and a large extended family.

Mrs. Fusco & Family,
Lary was a great guy whom I wish I had had more time to know. I first met Lary
when I purchased the 1987 Blue Corvette he had for sale in 2006. I remember how he loved his Corvettes! His pleasant manner and friendly ways will be missed.

Dear Marie and Family -

Although we only knew Lary a very brief time, it was a privilege. He let us know our "friendship light" was in bad shape, replacing it with a sparkling brass one from Aubuchon Hardware. His razor-sharp humor, intelligence, and strength will be missed. What a wonderful person. God bless you all.

Our hearts goes out to Lary's family & friends. What a unique individual. I was privileged enough to share a hospital stay with him after I was diagnosed recently. He was solace in my time of need putting his own horrific fight aside to comfort me. I could see vicariously what a great husband, father & grandfather he really was. He will be missed by so many people that he touched through the many different rolls he played through out his life. God Speed Lary
