As two baseball crazed boys Leo and I enjoyed watching the Yankees, Cardinals, Dodgers, Red Sox and Mets on tv at MSJ.
Leo was amazing with recalling stats I had never heard of. I may have pestered him into explaining how such stats were figured out.
His patience was enormous, but after a while his face would get really red and he'd tell me to enjoy watching the game and save explanations for later.
We'd rarely meet in later years, mostly at ball games and funerals, but his humor and knowledge of baseball amazed me. He was one of the friendliest people I ever knew, and I will miss him.
May his family and friends recall his better days, his humor, his joy in that summer game and may we all thank God for friends like Leo.

Very few people lit up my life the way you did, Uncle Leo. I still can't believe how well you remembered me since my childhood. I couldn't help but gravitate to you in a crowd! I enjoyed every moment with you, every conversation no matter how brief, and will cherish every memory. I can only hope to be as wonderful a person as you!

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. I was so deeply saddened to hear of my Uncle Leo's passing. He was always such a kind and loving soul and one of my biggest fans! Sent me my birthday & Christmas cards annually. Most of which included he love...a baseball card. Always of Mr Tony Gwynn. Since we shared the same birthday. Leo loved the fact I too was a Taurus like my Aunt Suzanne. Us stubborn bulls :). He was dearly loved and will be missed
