March 25, 2010
Brooke was one of the kindest most wonderful men I know. He reminded me why I wanted to pursue my dreams and kept me from giving up when I was ready to give up one myself. I really love you Brooke! Thanks for being the person I could call at 2am and you never told anyone I was unsure or insecure! You also taught me how to mix a mean top shelf margarita! Even if we have not reconnected in the last ten years since I left UCD, you and I know we had a special bond. Whatever challenged your soul, you are blessed in the everafter. To this day, I would give you the shirt off my back, as you would do for me and anyone else! Bless you Brooke.

Words can not express the deep loss we feel right now. Though we grieve not as the world does with no hope. But we have this hope that is the resurrection! We will see Dean again, however his departure from this life seemed all too quick.
Dean reminded us how to love unconditionally, live life to its fullest and help those in need. His infectious smile, quick wit and deep conversations about life will be missed. Family, we are in continued prayer for you. Love you all!

I am in awe of God and His grace to each one of us. Upon hearing the final home going of Dean, my heart ached for the house of Galbraith & Hunt. I prayed grace & peace be multiplied to you all. I prayed the God of all comfort would comfort your whole family in Christ Jesus, especially when all the well wishers go about their every day lives and you all reflect on this day and day's gone by. I pray that, what the enemy meant for evil God would turn for good, for, the saving of many souls. Also all those who Dean and your families lives have touched, who have not made a decision to serve Christ, today, that they would choose, whom they will serve, since no one is promised tomorrow & we are not guaranteed to see the end of the day we are in. I love you all NHCCOGIC, until we meet again, yours in Christ,

My Dear Cousins,
I am very sorry for your loss. Whenever I saw Dean, he always brought a smile to my face. His bright eyes, big smile, and silly antics will never be forgotten. One of my fondest memories of him was playing with his Mousetrap game. I always enjoyed and looked forward to playing with his and Scott's "cool" toys, not Carla's or Camille's. :) Thank you for raising such a loving man. May God be with you during this difficult time. I love you all.

When I first receive the news that Dean was gone I was SHOCKED.
God gave us this feeling. Shock is God’s Way. This sees us through the first days of grief and pain. It allows me to realize the gravity of my loss. This allowed me to “wake up” to true love of loss.
…But now you see what the Old Preacher used to say “LOVE ONE Another” “LOVE ONE Another”. This means so much to me living, to you living, to all of us living. To Love My Sister at this time of lost, To Love My Brother (Bishop) at this time of lost. The Love one another allows me to love all of my family and friends as well.

I will even miss our disagreements on politics and lifes' issues. You are definetly one of a kind. I am very greatful I met you 14 long years ago! I learned a lot from you and appreciate the fact that you were there for me in my MANY times of need. You ALWAYS made sure I was well taken care of.(No matter what was going on in your life.) You've helped me to become a better person. I've watched you give your last dollar and the shirt off your back to someone less fortunate. You not only had a major impact on my life, but you touched many of my family and friends lives as well. God Bless you and your family! And thank you! Thank you for being you! You are GREATLY missed but will ALWAYS live in my heart! I love you!

Cousin Albert, Cousin Carolyn, Scott, Carla, and Camille,
I love you all very much and you are in my prayers. Dean was my most hilarious relative hands down. I know he loved the Lord and he loved church. He would look at me in the choir and have me crackin' up, but he always gave me a thumbs up. One time he took me to play basketball at McKinley park and he knew I wasn't any good, but he said play, we'll be okay. When we stepped on the court he looked at me and said, ummm cousin, we're the weakest link and smiled. I said what did you get me into. We proceeded to get beat bad and got ran off the court quick. Later I realized he just wanted to hang out with me and spend some time with his cousin. Dean, I love you and I miss you. I have so many good memories to cherish.
Your cousin, Dennis Meeks

Dear Galbraith Family,
My heart is sooo heavy and saddened to hear about the loss of Dean. He was very special to me and my family. He was a brother, friend, classmate and prom date to me. I will be praying for every member of your family, church family and friends because Dean touched all of us in his own special way. He will always hold a special place in my heart. May God comfort and give you peace during this time as only He can.

30yrs ago while staying at a hotel; I was given into the watchful care of Dean and Scott. While they stopped to greet some PYTs I was lead away by the spirit to a body of water that had a shallow end and a deep end. The spirit then told me to “jump in the deep end” and I did. Dean and Scott by this time, realize that A) Billy is crazy, and B) Billy can’t swim. Fully dressed Dean dives into the pool and saves my life. The moral of this story is, No matter how deep in trouble I have been, Dean has always gone in after me. Family we will get through this, with God on our side, we will get through this. See you later Dean.

To the Galbraith/Hunt family,
I am thankful to know that all of you are God fearing and know the Lord. Even as your grief seems almost too much to bear you all already know that to be absent from the body is to be present in the Lord. I trust that Dean's homegoing will be a celebration of his life and I know you all are seeking comfort in one another and most of all in our Lord and Savior. My family and I are praying for you and will continue to do so.
