Anthony DeGusta Obituary

DeGUSTA, ANTHONY T.
Died suddenly September 11, 2003 leaving behind his loving wife of 60 years, Josephine. He was born June 1, 1913 in Spokane, WA and lived in Sacramento for 85 years. He graduated from Sacramento High and attended City College for two years. He went with the 784th Division through the "D-Day" invasion and the Battle of the Bulge in WW II. He made his way safely through a mine field. Tony entered the Army as a Private and rose to the rank of Captain. He managed many grocery stores and started buying his own stores in the mid-50's. Mass will be celebrated in the St. Joseph's chapel at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento, CA (21st and 65th), Thursday, September 18, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements by Lombard & Company Funeral Directors, 1550 Fulton Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825 (916) 483-3297.

Tony was a very nice person and neighbor who took care of his wife, dog, and yard with much care and affection. We'll miss him walking his dog through the neighborhood and driving his yellow Cadillac on his many errands. God bless his family while he is gone.
