SHIPMAN, Barbara Barbara J. Shipman, 92, passed away on October 26, 2014 at her home in Carmichael, Calif. She was born on October 13, 1922 in Berkeley, California to Elbert Ellsworth and Enid (Carnell) Beedle. Barbara grew up in Berkeley, California. She graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California in 1940. She had 4 husbands, Edward John Netemeyer, Norman Gothrick, Malcolm Brown, and lastly, Wendell Shipman. She enjoyed writing to her many pen-pals around the world, reading. She enjoyed reading, sitting with her cat, and listening to Big Band music. Barbara was preceded in death by her 4 husbands and her son, Edward John Netemeyer, Jr. Barbara is survived by her 3 sons, William Netemeyer (Karen) of Roseville, Gary Gothrick of Loomis, and Richard Gothrick (Barbara) of Arizona. and 1 daughter, Karen (Wayne) Fullerton of Chula Vista, Calif. Barbara leaves 5 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren. Barbara was very appreciative of all the help and support she received from Mike Shipman, son of Wendell Shipman, and Mike's wife Connie during the years they lived next door to each other. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at Cochrane & Wagemann Funeral Directors, 103 Lincoln Street, Roseville, Calif. on Thursday, October 30 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at Cochrane & Wagemann Funeral Directors on Friday, October 31 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow immediately at Newcastle Cemetery.
