Hi mom, I still miss you so much. I can't believe it's been almost 2 years. It seems like such a long and then short time ago since you went to heaven. I'm sure you, Auntie Bernie, Harriet, Jo and Jenny are all enjoying your regular coffee get togethers! Isn't Vera beautiful and that Emma Kate is such a kick! She reminds me of Holly!! love you forever mom.

Thanks, Mom. I know that it was best for you to fall asleep last year and wake up in heaven. But we all still miss you: your quiet strength, your warmth, your many kindnesses to your family and to the whole community. And you must know that day after day, people stop me to say how much they miss you and the store. Please continue to keep us in your care.

I want to thank all of you for your comforting words about my mom. The pain of her death is still here, it hasn't diminished and we will always miss her. She was a very special woman as all of you who knew her knows. We are going camping at Mama Casini's this coming weekend and I'm going mom--yep! believe it or not, my first camping trip since I was 11 years old and went to Pendola. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of you and I just wish you were still here. It's time for you to visit dad again and have a talk with him! I love you always and forever mom. Me

You will never be gone from the hearts of us that loved you. Your kindness and wisdom will follow all of us throughout our lives. Everytime I see a Prego jar I smile, and think of all the love your family had and still has to share. You and your loving family helped me be the person I am today. You will never be forgotten. God sent you as an angel to earth, and now you hold his hand as an angel in heaven.

Grandma Dee... Missing you even more with Mother's Day coming. We think about you and talk about you all the time.
You are Cara's special angel... she knows you are in Heaven and close to Jesus in case she needs any special help or favors. The other day I told her that she couldn't feed Emma big pieces of food because she would choke and have to go live in Heaven-- Cara told me that would be ok because Grandma DeeDee would take care of her! She loves to hear stories about Grammy Kate when she was little and her Mom Grandma DeeDee. I think about you all the time and how much strength you must have had to be a mother to ten kids!
We know that you are with us and we love you so much. You deserve all of the peace that I am certain you have found in God's embrace. Please pray for us to have strength to follow the example that you left for us so that someday we'll be there with you.
Love,
Holly

To all the members of the Gorman family: Evelyne just told me last night about the passing of your mother. I am so sorry for your loss. Although I have not seen any of you for years, I often recall the times we had living next door to each other. Your parents were always willing to squeeze another kid or two into the old station wagon for church. You were a close and loving family and I was happy to live next door to you - sandwiched between you and the Swinks - 23 kids in three houses! I cannot go through West Sacramento without thinking of the store and your family. My deepest sympathy on your loss.

Every day now, Grandma Dee, I see something that reminds me of you. A neighborhood dog looks just like Minnie, and reminds me of the walks we had with her together. An old rosary, a bush of orange-tinted roses, even an ordinary Hallmark card...I look at them, and I think of you and how very much you've meant to me, and to all our family. At first it made me incredibly sad, even tearful sometimes...but now those little reminders are a comfort to me, a sign that even though your body isn't with us, the memories I have of you and the things I've learned and felt with you will be with me for the rest of my life. I love you, Grandma, now and always!

Aunt Dee, I miss you more everyday. The reality has set in that I can never pop in the store again and see you. You were a one of a kind person and I'm so proud to have been your niece. You taught us all so much about love and family and God. Your wisdom and endless love, lives on in your children and their children. You will be remembered as a one of a kind woman. You meant so much to so many people, and because of that you will never be forgotten. I miss and love you Aunt Dee. Your loving niece Toni.

Mrs. G.:
I cannot tell you how much I miss you. How much the City of West Sacramento misses you. I drove by the store the other day, and it's as empty as our hearts. You filled them with absolute joy, every single time we were lucky enough to be around you. Your laugh -- and your integrity -- live on in the lives of your beloved children and grandchildren. ... The City of West Sacramento was so lucky to have you, and we will never, ever forget how you enhanced all our lives.
Be well, Mrs. G. I love you.
We love you, now and always! - The Meltons

Mrs. Gorman (we never were allowed to call her by her first name) was a loving woman. I grew up accross the street from her on Manchester and went to camp with Mr. Gorman. If we ever needed anything, they were always there. She will be missed greatly. My love, thoughts and paryers go out to all of her family.

To Dick and Family,
On July 21, 1930, was born an angel, sent by our Lord. For 78 years Dee walked side by side with him, here on earth, doing his work. She was so caring and loving. She brought joy and love to every person she met, and filled their hearts with a lifetime of peace and love. I have always carried a special place in my heart for the entire Gorman family. They touched my heart and my life when I was younger, and even though several years have pasted since I have seen them, I think of them often, and and smile over so many of those memories. My heart felt sorrow goes out to you, Dick, and every Gorman family member. Dee is not gone from your lives, only from your sight. When your feeling blue over her passing, reach inside your heart and you will find her there, always loving you, and supporting you. The good Lord has now left all of you to carry on the lifes lessons that Dee taught each of you, and so many other people, for so many years, and has given each of you a Guardian Angel. Don't say good-bye, just say, until I see you again.
There will come a day
when your tears of sorrow
will softly flow into tears of remembrance...
and your heart will begin to heal itself...
and grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy...
and you will hear the whisper of hope.
There will come a day
when you will welcome the tears of remembrance...
as a sunshower of the soul...
a turning of the tide...
a promise of peace.
There will come a day when you will...
risk loving...
go on believing...
and treasure the tears of remembering.
Dee may be gone from sight,
but she will live on in hearts for eternity.
By looking inside ones own heart,
she will be there to guide you,
love you, and comfort you.
My heart and thoughts are with all of you.
