Bernaldo Calabio Obituary

Bernaldo Calabio, 90, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018 at the Sacramento Veterans Medical Center, Mather, Ca. Born in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, Bernaldo was the son of Pedro and Victoria Calabio. He was the second to the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Hilo High school and joined the United States Air Force. Bernaldo met Thelma while he was stationed at Clark Air Force Base and after an extended courtship they were married in May 1960. They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Bernaldo served honorably in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Bernaldo and Thelma eventually settled in Rancho Cordova, Ca where they raised their two sons, and he continued service to his country with his work at the Sacramento Army Depot. Bernaldo enjoyed being with his family and friends, raising Koi fish, traveling, line dancing at the senior center, singing karaoke, and playing the ukulele and harmonica. He was a member of Saint John Vianney parish for 50 years. Bernaldo is survived by his beloved wife, Thelma; and his sons, Kelly and Rodney. There will be a visitation from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 21 at St. Mary's Funeral Center Chapel, 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento California. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 22 at St. Mary's Funeral Center Chapel. Bernaldo will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm at St. Mary's Cemetery.
