Bill Hoffman Obituary
HOFFMAN, Bill Jr.
Born September 13, 1946 in Bartlesville, Okla. Passed away on November 22, 2005 in Sacramento at the home of his sister after a battle with cancer at the age of 59. Loving Brother and Brother-in-law of Sarah Jane and Gerald Del Carlo; Uncle to Michael, Krystal, Dominic and Danielle Del Carlo; Great Uncle to Nicholas, Zachary, Giovanni and Andrew, all of Sacramento. Loving father of 7, daughter Rachel and husband Steve Hankins, son Jimmy and wife Trina, son Kenneth and wife Mary, son Phillip and wife Tina, son Bill and wife Julia, daughters Janell and Glenda Hoffman; Grandfather of 17, Rebecca, Matese, Jessica, LeeAnn, April, Patrick, Tracy, Cody, Alisha, Kendall, Kierstie, Alexander, Brook, Kayla, Hannah, Logan and Hunter; Great Grandfather of 1, Chandler, all of Missouri, and many cousins and friends. He spent the last 8 years traveling with the RCS Midway. He especially enjoyed the California State Fair because it brought him home to Sacramento and his devoted and beloved sister and her family. Bill loved fishing, hunting and his family.

Hi Billy
I finely got your guestbook to come up on the Mac. I wanted to write and say I love you big brother and miss you more and more each day. I am so glad that I got to spend the time with you before GOD took you home to be with all that are in Heaven.
I love seeing all the pictures that the kids have put in your guestbook. I can see all the kids growing up. I love them.
Gerald and I went home and ha a wonderful time and got alot of the Hoffman family tree done, I am trying to put the information on the family tree together. Any way, we had a great time seeing everyone. Grandpa's store (the building only) is there. I remember playing in the store and seeing Grandpa behind the counter or at the butcher block chopping meat for someone. We got a couple of BRICKS from the store.
Joe took Gerald and I to see Great Grandma's old place, but nothing is there except the cellar and part of the outhouse. The old house is gone but the memories we will always have. Anyway I know that you already know all of this but I I telling you anyway.
I have wonderful memories and when I see you all it will be complete. I love you

Happy Birthday big brother. I know that I am let saying it. I love you and miss you. I know that you are all up there having a party to celabrate all the birthdays.
Gerald and I are going home for a week, we leave tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing everyone, the last time I went was January of 1977. Long time, so Gerald and I are going and we will be working of the Hoffman family tree with Christine (Uncle Tom's daughter). I hope to get alot of pictures I will put some in your book.

Well! We went to the fair today and boy! is it different. The guys are not there anymore, I guess there was an acident and someone got hurt so they are not doing the state fair for a few years. It was not the same without all they people that were with you.
It was slow, not to many people there.

Billy Boy..that is the name that I remember all of us calling you. Couldn't just say Billy you were Billy Boy always. I am sorry that you and I never really had time to get to know one another other than as children. I know as a kid you and Rick were always teasing and pestering the rest of us, but we loved it. The only real memory of our being together as adults was when you came to FL and stayed at Mother's, Aunt Ruth to you. My mother always loved and you Sarah Jane and she was thrilled when you came to see us. I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with you as I was already married and out of the house. Do know that you were fun to be around and how handsome you were! Too bad I was your cousin! You did teach me somehthing new while you were there. Mother had made fried potatoes for dinner one night and of course I came over for dinner so I could have some time with you as you and Rick were usually off having fun! Anyway, you put mayonaise on your fried potatoes. I had never seen anyone do that before and I am like yuck! You told me to just try it, so I did and I loved them that way. You laughed and said you knew I would. You were such a smarty britches. Silly thing to remember but oh so fun to tell about it and just ask Aunt Ruth there with you as I know she remembers too. Billy Boy I know that Rick was saddened by your going on so I will say hello for him too. Love you and tell Grandma and your Mother, my Aunt Nellie hello from all us kids. Love you very much.

Well! Today is Michael's 39th birthday and we all went to Lake Tahoe. It was beautiful up there. We took some of yours and Michael's ashes to the Lake. I know that you two liked it there and wanted to be there. Now that you two are with all the loved ones that went ahead of you, I know that you are having a big family reunion. I know of you mostly from what I can remember from “the good old days" and the great stories that I hear. That is okay, because I know you didn’t want us to worry. I remember how scared I was when you wrecked with Kenny and praying that you would be okay. You survived that day, and I found myself praying for you again only a few weeks before your passing. Chandler never did get the pleasure of meeting you but he will always have pictures and stories that we will share with your only great grandson. I leave you with a poem you kept, that I wrote for you many years ago as a little girl. Now I will always keep it in a frame next to your picture.
