Sacramento, California - Bruce Michael Hatch, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2021. Bruce was born in Mill Valley, CA, and raised in Sacramento, where he attended Holy Spirit School and graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1984. He earned a bachelor's degree in communications from St. Mary's College in Moraga. Bruce's infectious smile and light-hearted demeanor served him well in his successful sales career.
Bruce leaves behind his son, Nathan, who he was most proud of; former wife, Christine Hatch; sister, Katherine Hatch; brother Maury Hatch; cousin James Hatch; many dear family and friends; and beloved dog Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Honorable Judge Leighton Hatch and Lynn Hatch, and older brother Francis Hatch. Bruce will be missed and will always be remembered for his kindness, willingness to help others, spirit of adventure, zest for the outdoors, and love of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Bradshaw Animal Shelter of Sacramento County.
Please, with COVID restrictions in mind, all are welcome to attend an outside graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Road on Saturday, March 27th at 2PM.

Bruce and I were in carpool and class together at Sutterville Preschool, we grew up a few blocks apart in Land Park and had our First Communions and Confirmations together at Holy Spirit Church. Although Bruce took the parochial school path and I the public school path, we remained good friends. So much so that when it came time for my Debutante Ball in 1985, I was privileged to have him as my Usher. Remember that night, Maury? You two had to leave after dinner to drive up the hill to the ski resort for work the next day. My heart hurts to hear of his passing, but I will always cherish having known him.

Bruce and I were in carpool together when we went to Sutterville Preschool, we grew up a few blocks apart in Land Park and we went to the same church, Holy Spirit. Although Bruce took the parochial school path and I the public school path, we remained good friends. So much so that when it came time for my Debutante Ball in 1985, I was privileged to have him as my Usher. Remember that night Maury? You two had to leave after dinner to get up the hill to the ski resort. He was always one of the sweetest and most handsome friends I ever had.
I am very saddened to hear of his passing and will always remember him with a great fondness in my heart.

Oh B, i still can’t believe you left so soon! Things seem a little less vibrant without the twinkle in your baby blues & that sparkling smile of yours!! We made some great memories in the time we spent together, & I’m so happy that we remained close friends even after we were no longer a couple. Thank you for introducing me to Horsetail Falls and Au Fleuf pancakes!! I’ll miss drives with the top down with you and Riley Roo and being able run over for a hug & pep talk next to your fire pit when either of us were down. Miss you, Friend!!!
