Carol O'Hara Obituary

Carol peacefully passed away at home with members of her family at her side.

Carol was born in Tucson, Arizona to Orville and Helen Oldham living there until moving to La Jolla then Alameda, California at the age of six. When WW2 was over she returned to Tucson and attended Amphitheater High School. Carol met her future husband Jim, a member of the USAF. They married at Travis AFB when Carol was 18 and Jim was 19. It was there they started their family. Three children soon arrived, Kenneth, Robert and Sharon.

For 24 years the USAF transferred this family to multiple states and Japan finally arriving in Mill Valley, California. It was there with Jim retired and the children on their own Carol began to pursue her passions. Carol received a degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University. She became a published author. Carol traveled to six continents. She would say, "I think I was born to travel". Carol was a member of the Travel Writers Guild. She coordinated California Writers Club conferences. Carol started Cattale Press, a successful publishing and editing business.

Carol was able to combine her love for travel and writing. Until Jim passed away in 2013 they traveled to multiple regions of the United States and throughout the world. She wrote stories for each of those trips. She was a writer who lived a storybook life.

Above all Carol loved her family. Brothers Orville Jr.(1917-1944, Capt. USAAF) and Glen(1936-1964, Lt. USMC). Carol is mourned by her children, Kenneth Lee, Robert Joseph, Sharon Anne Fox and her husband Don. Grandchildren Devon LeeAnne, Joseph Ryan, Christa Lynne Gates (James), and AmberLyn Elise. Great-grandchildren Nevaeh Faith, Trinity Hope, Isaiah Christian, Micaiah Moses, Noah Ryan-Azariah, Jaxon Josiah, Sophia Lin, Rylee Jo, Sailor Paige, Wyatt James, Everett Don, and Jesse Holden.
