Mrs. Marrah inspired me to write back when I was in the 8th grade at Joaquin Miller Jr. High. All these years later, with two of my books published by a university press, I am still grateful for her skill and warmth as a teacher. Thank you, Mrs. Marrah!

Dick-saddened to read of the passing of your mom. That has to be such a tough one. Hopefully you´re coping a bit. She clearly lived a long and productive life. 102 is amazing. Thinking of you ... and am so sorry.

Mrs. Marrah was one of my most treasured English teachers at Joaquin Miller Jr. High School (another being her good friend Mrs. Anderson). H
Mrs. Marrah's lovely Tennessee voice and gentle teachings have remained sweet in my memory all these years. Thank you for nurturing my love of English and literature.

She was my 7th grade English teacher and was a a force in developing my love of writing and literature. She was the most inspiring of teachers and a lovely Southern lady. I think of her often and am happy to see she led a long and happy life. Alison Buhler-Joaquin Miller Jr.
