Curtis Chaney Obituary

CHANEY, Curtis Lewis

Oct 25, 1930
July 19, 2006

Lewie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by hoards of family and friends. Loved by Jackey, his wife of 55 years and his sister Carol Carlisle; his favorite children Missie Kime (Stuart), Colton Chaney, Kendal Chaney-Buttleman (Mike), Spencer Chaney (Keli), Ryan Chaney, Suebee Gaudio (Rich) and eleven snigglefritzes and sugarplums Megan (Steve), Mason, Brittney, Logan, Malorie, Whitney, Taylor, Wyatt, Jackie, Madison, Justin.

Lewie practiced the simplest of ways and touched each and everyone profoundly. His love was given effortlessly but with life lasting effect.

A graduate of Sacramento State College, after retirement from the State of California, Lewie worked as an appraiser in order to finance Jackey's perpetual shopping trips and their annual vacations to Maui. He turned down many offers to join professional crossword solvers, Horseshoe throwers and move critic tours to be with his family and friends.

Dad will never leave our hearts but has moved on to join his best friend Vance for a cold beer.

You may honor Lewie's life by donating to American Cancer Society, but he would like it if you would just vote against Arnold, and come to Lew's party at Missie's on Aug. 12 from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.

Lou and Vance both played poker with the "Board of Equalization Poker Guys" . On behalf of my beloved late Dear Ol Dad, Jack Bitzer, who was one of those *original* 'poker guys", I send sincere condolences and caring thoughts.

I'm wishing you peace of heart and comfort through your loving memories.

Sincerely,

Dear Jackie and family,

I was so glad to have visited with Louie at Vance's celebration. My parents and you all had such fun times together and those memories will keep you all laughing. I am sure Louie and Vance are back together again, shaking dice with an ever full ice cold Bud!
