Daniel HARRY Obituary

A lifelong resident of Elk Grove, California. Beloved son of Anne and Mike. Brother of Elliott and Mitchell. Grandson of Helene and Tom Lytle and Dick Harry (Janet). Nephew of Tom Harry (Cindy) and Debbie Goehring (Arden). Cousin of Kristina Backer and Rachael and Camille Harry. Daniel also leaves behind many devoted great aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceeded in death by his Nana, Carolyn Harry. Daniel was a 2007 graduate of Elk Grove High School where he served as Student Body President in addition to numerous other leadership positions. He attended University of California, Davis and Cosumnes River College and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Daniel loved to play soccer, work cattle, hunt, play games and be with friends. He had a passion for reading and could often be found engrossed in a good book. Daniel's quick wit, sense of humor and charisma will be deeply missed by his many friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, October 26 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 9961 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CCHAT Center-Sacramento, 11100 Coloma Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 or the Daniel Harry Memorial Scholarship, Elk Grove Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2021, Elk Grove, CA 95759.

Dear Harry Family,
I am very sorry for your loss; my condolences go to you. Daniel was a friend of mine, and made me become a better person. When I stepped onto EGHS grounds, he would always greet me and asked me how I was doing; he did this for three years. Not once, did Daniel judge me or anyone else. I want you to know that your son helped me become a better person just by greeting me and helping me with modern day struggles. I thank him for that. He will always be an inspiration to me. Daniel was a friend to me and a friend to other students. I also thank him for making my high school experience an unforgettable one and once more being my friend. Your sons friendship is something I will always cherish. He will be missed dearly. I pray that faith will guide you through this difficult loss. May god be with you, always. Daniel will always be in our hearts and minds, and will never be forgotten.

Dear Harry Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Daniel was an outstanding individual who will be greatly missed. Always friendly, smiling and willing to lend a helping hand. He accomplished so much at EGHS; ASB President and Vice President, outstanding graduating senior of his class of 2007 and voted Best All Around by his classmates. Dear Harry family,
I knew Dan well from his time with SAE. Although he came into the house two years after me, I remember having such a profound admiration for him. As anyone in a fraternity can attest, meetings and activities can sometimes rival the drama of a sorority. Whenever a point of contention emerged Dan was always diplomatic and compassionate in his approach to all sides. I can't remember a time when he was not eager to listen to someone's perspective and lend a hand if needed. In a house with high energy and emotion, he brought a refreshing taste of peace to us. I couldn't be more proud of him as a brother, and I know for a fact that we all share a deep respect for Dan. Our memories of him will undoubtedly stay alive with us until Kingdom come. So many love him, and please know that we will do everything we can to help you through this tragedy.

My sincerest sympathy over this great loss. Dan was such a bright light and I enjoyed him so much. My fondest memory is his smiling and teasing over games of pinochle with me. He has and will always hold a special place in my heart. He will be sorely missed. You and your family are in my prayers.

Anne and Mike...
We are so sorry and saddened to hear about your loss. Even though our boys parted ways after their days together at Foulks Ranch, one of Kevin's favorite memories is of getting extra horse rides at Daniel's birthday party because everyone else was swimming and Kev had a cast on his arm! Anne, Mike, Elliot & Mitchell - Words cannot describe how sorry we are, it just hurts to know that this is even real. Daniel was such a good friend to both Kaylyn & Lauryn. He was always so fun to talk to; Scot loved to talk cattle & hunting with him. It didn't matter what the occasion, he always had a smile on his face and always brought a smile to ours!
