David Fong Obituary

Dr. David Fong passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017, while at home with Terry Fong, his devoted wife of 41 years. Born on December 15, 1950 in Sacramento, California, David lived a full and wonderful 66 years. He is survived by his wife, Terry, and his two children, Jeremy (Robyn) and Lindsay (Patrick). David also leaves behind his doting sisters, Helen (Donald), Doris (John), and Nellie (Gary), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He has gone on to join his loving parents, Mon Foo and Mary Fong. David attended C.K. McClatchy High School and the University of California Berkley before graduating with his doctoral degree in dentistry from Northwestern University School of Dentistry. He was passionate about dentistry and grew a thriving dental practice in Sacramento for over 42 years; Dr. Fong loved each of his patients and caring for their smiles brought tremendous joy to his heart. David was an extremely humble and generous man. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with his family. He loved his fellow parishioners at Faith Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon. David lived a faith-filled life and was constantly striving to be the hands and feet of Christ to those around him. We know that he was greeted at the gates of Heaven with the words "Well done good and faithful servant." A celebration of David's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Harry Nauman & Sons Funeral Home. 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA. 95822. If you would like to contribute to David's continued ministry, donations may be made to the Faith Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

Terry, my condolences to you, Jeremy, and Lindsay. I was a dental assistant for Dr. Law at the 21st. Street office. I still have found memories of that office and Dr. Fong is one of them. He was funny and very kind. He also made the Best brownies. He will be missed. May the Grace of God strengthen you and your children.

My condolences and prays for the Fong family. Dr. David is the true definition of a gentleman. Gentle, empathetic, caring and kind, that was him. I'll never forget his career advice to me as a teenager. I started as a patient 40 years ago! He always asked about my mom even after she stopped going to him as a patient. He even came to her service after she passed away in 2016. You will always be remembered.

I agree with everyone's sentiment that Dr. Fong was such a genteel, kind person, especially with his patients. I recall when I first asked him to work on my teeth without novocaine. He tried to talk me out of it fearing that it may be painful for me.

David, you will always be remembered dearly...
