Chris & family: We were sad to hear about Dave's passing. You & Dave were truly a great example of how to raise kids.

I think often of the Cardinal's and of Dave stepping up to help out when nobody else would. No matter what was thrown at him, Dave didn't let it faze him. I have nothing but great memories from those years. Say hi to all.

Chris and kids,
When I think of David, I see him on the volleyball court playing with zest, energy, smiles and passion- kind of the way he encountered life. Chris, your love for him was evident in many, many ways- you are such a role model to your children and those of us who know you. The sparkle in your eyes as you looked at him(even if you were calming him down on the court)displayed to the world your deep, deep love. Heidi, Sarah and the others, I continually tell others the dedication and love you all share for your parents. You all are an incredible testimony of what "family"means- thank you for being a light to those around of what real love is and does.

Kellermann Family,
My heart breaks as I know exactly what you all are experiencing. I found most comfort in my family. Cling tight to each other now and in the months/years ahead. My fondest memory is when the SLU team came up to play volleyball and had dinner at Heidi's aunts house. It was evident what an incredible, fun and close family you have. My thoughts and prayers remain constant for your family.
Love, Lindsay Spinks-Shepherd

Dear Chris & Kellermann Family,

I'm a '79 Del Campo grad. and didn't know Chris or the Kellermann's but through their sister Gen and mutual friends. I do remember being at the Kellermann home one time with Gen and seeing a garage full of tools and Dodge muscle cars. The Kellermann boys, (mainly Dave I think) were real Mopar fans. I remember thinking what great parents these kids had to let them have a mini-auto. shop spread all around the house. Then there were those times we'd see Dave on San Juan Blvd.or Sunset Ave. ripping around in one of his hot rods.

Years later at a high school reunion Chris looked beautiful as always and very pregnant. Someone said she married Dave Kellermann and I thought, "good for Chris, she married a good man".

My dear Kellermann Family: I am saddened by the passing of 'Dave. I remember when Chris and Dave sat at my table at Applebee's and introduced themselves saying that they grew up with my dad's side of the family. From that moment on, a friendship and sense of extended family formed and they were both there when my beautiful little boy was born and it seemed like we moved together, because I would leave and somehow, they weren't too far away-from state to state. The Kellermanns have always been a huge part of my life, and I love them dearly. I will miss you Dave, and I know that you are at peace and no longer in pain. I may not be down there to lend a hand, but I am there in spirit. And I thank God everyday that I had the blessing of knowing and appreciating a wonderful man that was like a father to me. I will love you always, and we will see each other again.

July 30, 2008

Even as we mourn his passing, Dave's memory will be cherished as he lives on in our hearts and minds. He embraced life and brought happiness to those who knew him. Let us all take a lesson from his book, live life to the fullest, make the most of every day, appreciate each chance to be with family and friends, so you can leave Earth knowing yours was a life well spent.

Dave was a good friend of mine through Volleyball. He was just a great person to be around. His passion for Volleyball was infectious. We even played in a league on the same team and had a blast. We missed him when the family moved back to California from Colorado. I wish there were more people like him. You will be greatly missed Dave.
