The loss of Dave knocked the stuffing out of me. My tail was dragging and I found myself in a downward spiral that I had not experienced in 4 years. The Saturday night after Thanksgiving I was thinking of Dave, and I came to the realization of how mad Dave would be at me if he knew how hard I was taking his loss. At that moment I physically felt a huge weight removed from my head. I know David wants me to enjoy my life to the fullest and I intend to honor him by doing just that. After his funeral I remembered some other things about Dave that I did not mention, and that is, he was forever helping anybody and everybody, and the other thing is that in the 26 years that I knew him, I NEVER saw him put himself first. David, I will miss you until my dying day, and I will be forever grateful for having had you in my life---till we meet again my friend.

I was so saddened to hear about Dave's passing. I met Dave in 1965 when I moved to Natomas. Even though we have lost touch, I have always considered him my friend. I will always remember his smile and his hugs. Even though I don't remember the days, I will always remember the moments and how he made me feel.

My heart and prayers go out to the entire McKinney family. I wish you continued love, strength, and good memories. He was a hero.
