David Oakes
January 25, 1957 - May 2, 2021
Sacramento, California - In Loving Memory of David Wayne Oakes
Born January 25, 1957 in Auburn, CA
Departed May 2, 2021 in Sacramento, CA
David was born to Phillip and Joan Oakes in Auburn, CA, and was the second of four siblings. He attended Loomis Grammar School, Del Oro High School, and received his BA from National University. His career was Director of Health and Technology at UCD Medical Center where he coordinated Telemedicine Communications. David met his wife, Cecilia, and celebrated 28 years of marriage prior to her unexpected passing in 2018. He retired early so they could both spend time traveling, reading and just enjoying life up at the family cabin at Wrights Lake.
David is survived by his; sister, Debbie Spencer (Steve); brother Gary (Kathy) and nieces; Katie Knofler (Casey); Lindsey Oakes (Natalie); Megan Moreno; and nephews Eric Bennett; and Robert Oakes (Haley). He is also survived by numerous cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Phil Oakes, and his brother, Peter Oakes. He loved his home and neighborhood in East Sacramento and the friendships he formed with his surrounding neighbors. They always kept an eye out for each other and for that David was eternally grateful. He also had numerous friends that kept in touch with David over the years. He will be missed. In lieu of a service, memoriams may be made to a favorite charity.
