Dovie Armstrong Obituary
Dovie was born on April 13, 1932, and blessed the world with seven decades of marriage to her lifelong partner, known for their devotion and shared life together. She was an accomplished waterskier, and she proudly worked for 40 years at Macy's, Weinstocks, and Liberty House, where her dedication and warmth touched many.
Cherished by her family, Dovie is survived by her son, Charles G. Armstrong III, and daughter-in-law Carmen Armstrong. She is also survived by Chad Armstrong's former spouse, Susan Harrison, and her grandchildren: Justin, Ryan, Nicole, Cyrus, and Crystal, as well as many great-grandchildren. Dovie is survived by her sister Bernice Vierra, sister-in-law Pat Bazlen, and brother-in-law Chester Bray.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles "Chuck" Armstrong Jr.; her son Charlton "Chad" Armstrong; her parents, Glen Pritchard and Mable Edwards Pritchard; her sisters Edith Newland, Louise Radwan, and Joan Redding; her brother Buddy Pritchard; and her sisters-in-law Susan Gomes, Marilyn Bray, and brother-in-law Robert Armstrong.
Dovie loved her family deeply and valued every family event they shared. She possessed a lifelong love of travel and adventure, always excited to explore the world and collect art along her journeys. Her heart was full of love for friends who joined her on many memories and moments of joy.
A devoted wife and mother, Dovie dedicated her early life to her family, raising her sons with a spirit of fun and warmth. She often spoke fondly of her family, her travels, and the joy of laughter.
Dovie will be remembered for her bright smile, generous heart, and infectious laughter. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the importance of family above all else. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her to embrace life with kindness and curiosity.
Dovie was a Great American Patriot.
