Earl Packwood Obituary

PACKWOOD Jr., Earl
Born in Exeter, Missouri on September 24, 1925, passed peacefully on February 24, 2005 in Roseville. A long-time Sacramento resident, Earl's favorite saying was, "Helping people help themselves". He truly was a "people person" as he loved to meet new people and made friends with everyone he met. Earl is survived by his brother Bob (Janet) Packwood, sister in-law Gloria Packwood, Petrina Packwood and the two daughters born to them, Gail Seagraves and Connie (Marty) Bridges, grandsons Ryan (Shannon) Bridges and Brent Bridges, granddaughter Laura Bridges, great granddaughter Terra Rose Bridges, and many loving friends. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 28, at Chapel of the Valley, Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln., Fair Oaks, CA.

Every time someone told me Uncle Earl was going to be at a family event, a feeling would build inside my heart of gladness...I knew that day would hold a smile for me. I am truly grateful to have known him.

Pat, Gail, and Connie -

My sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father. Earl was a good man in the true sense of the word, and he influenced many for good.

One of my more cherished mementos from North Sac is an outline of a sermon he gave on "Why You Should Become A Christian", which my father wrote down inside my Bible. His lessons were always clear and practical. I know there are many others who would tell you the same things.

I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that he touched many people.

When I was a child of three he showed me God's love. When I grew up I was able to remind him of God's love. Earl, you have won the race and everyone that loves you will miss you and be happy for you that the same time. Your love will live within my heart forever. Thanks for teaching me also that recovery happens one day at a time. You blessed my live in many ways. Thank you !!!!!
