August 13, 1926 - August 3, 2025
Sacramento, California - Edna Croom, resident of the Sacramento area for 65 years, passed on August 3, 10 days short of what would have been her 99th birthday.
She was born in Vancouver BC, Canada August 13, 1926 and was raised in Albany, Oregon.
She moved to California and took a secretary job at Standard Oil Co. in San Francisco where her uncle was a V.P. Word spread quickly around the office that she should not get treated differently because of her connection.
After tirelessly raising her family, she was employed by the state on the staff of Senator George Deukmejian who later was elected Governor.
Edna was married to husband Jack for 64 years. He passed away in 2013.
She is survived by sons Rick and Don, grandsons David and Michael, and four great grandchildren.
Edna's calm loving nature will not be forgotten.
Gravesite service will be held Friday, August 29 at 1 p.m. at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road, Newcastle.
