I graduated from Kennedy High School in 1971 and Mr. Sorichetti is the only teacher I remember. Mr. Sorichetti saw the good in every one of us. He was firm without being mean and because he believed in us more than we believed in ourselves he didn't let you get by with doing less than he knew you were cable of, which was always more than you thought you were. He brought out the best in every student and I remember hearing many of them say, like me, that Mr. Sorichetti was their favorite teacher. His quick humor and caring personality combined to make him a world class teacher.
Since it's only today that I have learned of his passing this is my way of paying my respect to the person I knew as a man's man, to someone who made the world a better place for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Phyllis, Diane & Denise my heart is saddened at how you must grieve the loss of your beloved husband and father. But remember God is loving and faithful and has spent a great deal of time preparing a place for your precious beloved where you will meet again and there will be no more tears or sadness.
May God bless you and keep you.
Love,

Mrs. Sorichetti--You were my chorus teacher at Joaquin Miller and I've always fondly remembered you. I saw you last in 1966 when I was in the choir at City College, and we performed at Joaquin Miller. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Sorichetti Family,
I was deeply saddened to read about Mr. Sorichetti's passing. He was my biology teacher at Sac High back in the late 60s. He was the BEST teacher even though he made us dissect various creatures! He always had a smile on his face and treated his students with the utmost respect. He truly is one teacher that I will always remember.

Phyllis,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Ed truly touched many people through his calling as an educator, his great cooking, and most of all his infectious laugh. I will always remember the twinkle in his eyes as he told us the story of how you two met. You were truly his soul mate and the love of his life. I know he is cooking up a big pot of pasta in heaven. He will be missed but his spirit will always be in the hearts of those he touched.

Mrs. Sorichetti, Denise and Diane,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was very lucky to have Mr. Sorichetti as a teacher at John F. Kennedy. He hired me a few times with his catering business. I have learned that you only have a few teachers that make an impact, Edward was such a teacher and man. He will be missed.

My dearest Phyllis and family. I will never forget you or Ed. He was always so pleasant and wonderful to everyone at JFK; his students loved him for his smile and his dedication to them. And, on special days, he was the "hot dog man". My family & I will always remember, how in our time of sorrow, the two of you prepared food for everyone at our home. You and Ed were always there whenever someone was in need. God Bless You and may your memories keep you. Take care, my dear friend.

My deepest sympathy to you Phyllis and your family. You and Mr. Sorichetti were my favorite teachers of all time! I enjoyed Mrs. Sorichetti at Sam Brannon from 1981-83 and Mr. Sorichetti at Kennedy from 1984-87. I always enjoyed your wonderful laugh Mrs. Sorichetti. Mr. Sorichetti always made class wonderful. His charm, respect and honor as a teacher shined so greatly. I was also one of the lucky students in 8th grade that was able to help the two of you with your Catering business. I always loved to enjoy the great pasta that Mr. Sorichetti made. My sister Terri Markofer remembered nicknaming him "Bumble Bee" after he walked in to class one day wearing a yellow and black shirt. Throughout the years I have thought of the two of you often and will always remain to think of the two of you. Both of you are such inspirational people with eternal affect. Thank you and Sincerely, Peggy Markofer-Mallory

My deepest sympathies to your family. I had Mr. Sorichetti at JFK for Biology over 30 years ago and it was the only time in my life I ever understood anything about science or biology. We dissected fetal pigs that year and he made the class so much fun. He also took a personal interest in individual students, which is the true measure of a great teacher. He will be remembered with fondness.

Dear Phyllis, Denise and Diane,
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I have fond memories of Ed (or Father Ed as we have referred to him at many ICF meetings). I will miss his stories about his life, particularly how he met and married his true love, Phyllis - and how the marriage secured them an apartment! I wish you peace in this difficult time.

I was very sad to hear Mr. Sorichetti passed. He was my favorite teacher at Kennedy! Besides Mr. Williams and Mr. Sorichetti, I really don't remember any teacher that stands out. He made biology fun. Teachers make such an impression, and Mr. Sorichetti was one of the great ones.
My sincere sympathy to his family. I just know he was a great father and husband.
