Erin Lucas BLANEY

1961 - 2016

Our hearts are broken with the passing of Erin Lucas Blaney on May 19, 2016 after a long hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was born in Placerville on February 8, 1961. She lived a rich, zestful life filled with hard work and fun. After graduating from Bella Vista High School, she moved to England to work for Revlon. When she returned stateside, she received her Cosmetologist License and went to work for the "Hairport" in San Francisco. In 1992 she met and married Doyle Blaney, her devoted husband of 24 years. She returned to Sacramento and eventually established, with longtime friend and business partner Kristopher Elliot, the E&K Hair Salon. Her friends were many and her family large. She is survived by her mother, Dixie Green (Rich), her brothers Michael Lucas, and Mark Lucas (Leslie) and sons Peyton, Sam and Cooper. She loved traveling especially to places like Paris, Hawaii and New York. Erin and Doyle also loved to visit friends, especially at Shelter Cove, Trinidad, Fourth of July's at Weaverville and summer trips to Camp De Sabla. To everyone's amazement, she also tried her hand at sky diving. Our thanks to Dr. Grennan and the wonderful oncology staff at Kaiser for their care and friendship. Special thanks to Erin's "Peeps" who were with her daily and had the privilege of spending each day with her. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Friday, June 24th at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow at the Church.
