February 25, 1930 - January 25, 2022
Sacramento, California - Eugene (Gene) A. Humphrey, 91, of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2022 at UC Davis Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Gene was born on February 25, 1930 to Clayton Humphrey and Mable Sonnenberg in the bustling city of Chicago, IL. After Gene graduated from Chicago High school, he pursued an Associates degree and served in the U.S. Army.
For years, Gene worked as a Sales Manager. Television advertising and disc jockey on the radio. Gene was passionate about serving his country and he always loved what he did for a living.
Music was one of his hobbies along with watching the Kansas City Chiefs and 49ers. He was also proud to be a member of Moose Lodge 2357 in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Mable, his brother Harold and his sister Lorraine. He is survived by his wife, Jacque, his two children, Julie Nudi and Matt (Mary Lou) Humphrey, and stepson Brian Ball.
In addition, five grandchildren: Christy, Stephanie, Cody, Courtney and Kyle.
Seven great grandchildren: Lindsey, Kailynne, Alezandria, Erin, Rhyan, Layla, and Emmie.
A celebration of life will be held for Gene on March 13, 2022, at the Moose Lodge in Rancho Cordova from 2-5 p.m.
Burial with military honors will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on March 14, 2022 in Dixon CA.
