Frieda Gross Obituary

In sadness, we announce that Frieda Anna Gross, 85, of Folsom passed away surrounded by her family on December 12, 2016. She was born in Germany on June 14, 1931, and married Arno, the love of her life, in 1952. Their dream was to make a better life for their family in the United States. Their journey from Germany to the US began in 1954 when they immigrated to Canada, and a few years later, they moved to the US and made their way to California to raise their family in San Jose. Frieda was devoted to her family, she always had a smile on her face, and never said a cross word to anyone. She loved to laugh at silly jokes, and was an avid 49ers fan, even during the bad years. Frieda leaves a large and loving family who will miss her greatly. Arno, her husband of sixty-four wonderful years, was her devoted caretaker for the last twenty-four years. Frieda is survived by her children, Reinhard (Diane) Gross, Monica Wallace, Barbara (John) Swentowsky, and Linda (Dean) Gardner. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, as well as ten great-grandchildren, who knew her as their Oma. She absolutely loved the yearly reunions where the whole family gathered. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11am at Faith Baptist Church, 335 East Bidwell Street, Folsom, CA, 95630, to be followed by a graveside service, and a gathering of friends and family at the family's home. "Friedchen," until we meet again.
