George Arrant Obituary

George Fredrick Arrant

June 21, 1955 - November 23, 2024

Sacramento, California - George passed away peacefully at home after a long illness, with his close friends and his dogs, Niska and Gandur, by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Joyce Arrant and his sister, Carol Arrant.

George attended CK McClatchy High School in Sacramento, graduating in 1973. He had a 35-year career with the State of California, CalSTRS.

George had many hobbies and activities. He loved attending national track and field events, which included traveling to London and Berlin for track meets.

He also enjoyed volunteering at "A Touch of Understanding" (ATOU).

George was active in agility training and competitions with his previous dogs Juno and Denali. They won many awards together. Recently, he spent time with his current dogs, Niska and Gandur, and prided himself on being the best dog dad.

He was a long-time member of the Chevy SSR club, an avid pre-war train collector, and a lover of Hawaiian shirts.

George will be remembered for his generosity and kindness to those people and organizations that were close to his heart.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in George's memory to A Touch of Understanding, ATOU.
