George Puccinelli Obituary

Sparks, Nevada - It is with grief and shock that we announce the sudden passing of our generous-to-a-fault and "larger than life" Italian companion, sweetheart, relative, and friend. He quickly passed away the day after a fall, aged 89.
He is preceded in death by his parents (Emilio and Ida Puccinelli) and brothers (Primo and Frank).
He leaves behind his loving companion of 20 years, Laurette Looney and her family, Mary Foxton, Jacqueline Holmes, Adrianne Goff and Sunny Goff; also his sister, Emilia Puccinelli Trafton and nephew, Edward Trafton; sister-in-law, Amelia Puccinelli and nieces, Lora Schreiber and Gina Kohler; sister-in-law, Marlene Puccinelli and niece, Elvia Puccinelli Begnoche and nephew, Paul Puccinelli.
He was well known for his delicious Italian dishes, cookies and pies that he enjoyed handing out to friends and family. "Mangia!" was his favorite word. He was a successful sports better at Western Village Casino and loved meditating at Reno Meditation Group.
A memorial mass will be held the evening of Friday, May 17th, 7:00pm, at St. Mary's Church, 1333 58th Street, Sacramento, California, 95819.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to Loaves & Fishes, Sacramento's largest service agency for the homeless. (sacloaves.org)

I took this photo of Gino (George) during Sparks' Hot August Nights events. He was getting a bit emotional over this vehicle because it reminded him of some of the old cars his elder relatives drove during his very early childhood.

my sincere condolences to the Sacramento branch of Gino's family. I am part of the nevada branch. I loved Gino and he was like a brother to me. He showed me in so many ways that he cared about me. I have saved his last voice mail and I listen to it when I feel the need to hear his voice again.
Gino, you will be missed so very much.

George , I want to say THANK YOU so very much for all the help you gave me working together. You were a boss that I could always sit down and talked to and figure out what to do.Also I will will always remember our squirll hunt and fishing outing..GOD BLESS you .My prayers are with you.

I was sorry to hear of George´s passing. George was a cousin & I have fond memories of him, we lived close to him in a lovely Italian community. Our heart goes out to his sisterEmily & nephew Eddie. Prayers & thoughts are with them.
