George Stephenson Obituary

George Stephenson II
April 2, 1952 - June 11, 2021
El Dorado Hills, California - George Elliot Stephenson II of El Dorado Hills, CA passed away with his family by his side on June 11, 2021. George was born in Dearborn, Michigan and was the son of George Sr., and Lillian Stephenson also of El Dorado Hills. George lived in Dearborn before moving to California at the age of four. He graduated from Bloomfield High School and later attended Wayne State University where he played football on the same field and ironically had the same coach as his Father. George emerged into the group health and life insurance industry and successfully titled as president, vice president and directors of several insurance companies that spanned his 45-year career. Sports were always a factor in his life as he became an avid motor cross racer competing in many states as well as Northern California where he won the Hangtown competition. He was also a very talented musician, singer and songwriter. He especially loved spending time with his Father watching football together and going to the movies. George is survived by his parents George Sr. and Lillian Stephenson, loving wife Leslie Perez, sister Valerie Ashker, his children Trinity Gleckler (Michael) and George E. Stephenson III (Melody), niece Laine Ashker, stepchildren Sydney and Grant Perez and five grandsons. Also survived by his Uncle Larry Touquet, Uncle Dennis and Aunt Linda Touquet, cousins Michael and Sandi Touquet, Michelle and Kevin Ripley, Matt and Brianna Touquet, Alicia and Adrian Webster, Elizabeth Simmons, Laura Summerdyke, Lee Jr. and Paula McGowan, Sean McGowan, and John and Erin Carter. Last but not least his faithful golden retriever Lily and cats Bandit and Inky. George was a true friend and devoted son to his parents and never failed to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his wit, charm and constant humor but most of all, his love for his family and friends which he so adored. George meant so much to so many people and will be truly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2021 11am to 4pm at the Cameron Park Country Club in Cameron Park, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to STE (Save The Elephants) in memory of George.
