Mary Lyn and family, you are certainly in my heart and prayers. I worked for and with Harry for almost forty years, most of that time while we both worked for the California Department of Transportation and in recent years while Harry worked as a consultant. He was, and will always be remembered as the consummate right of way agent. Harry's many contributions to the profession and the Department will carry on as a fitting legacy.

We believe that we are fortune to have known Harry as a friend. We shall always remember his wit, kindness, and tolerance to our not so conventional views to current affairs. The memory of our Chinese dinner gatherings is a testimony of his long lasting impact in our lives.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you for the loss of Mr. Kagan (which is how he was known to me)--My dad, Frank Lentz, held him in very high regard over their many years at Caltrans. The two of them are undoubtedly engaged in a spirited (and humor-filled) discussion in heaven about the ways of the world.

During my 41 years as a Right of Way Agent I had many bosses but have always said that Harry was "the Greatest boss I ever had" - we shared a lot of good and bad times in the 14 years I was his Asst. Chief R/W Agent. Mary Lyn his love for you was always evident.

Mary Lyn & Family,
I am sad that Harry has passed but happy he is no longer in pain. I am blessed to have Tina as a sister in law and glad that I met the entire family. Harry was a funny, generous and classy man. Mom will enjoy having his company in heaven. Stay strong and know that you have a lot of people in Texas thinking about you.

Harry was the Chief R/W Agent for Caltrans when I started and our working relationship continued after he became a consultant. His demeanor and ability to solve problems were an inspiration to me. He was the ultimate negotiator and a true leader. The Caltrans R/W organization owes much of what it is today to Harry.

Very sad to hear of Harry's passing, but in a funny way it is also nice to reflect on working together, meetings where I was the 'wet behind the ears kid' learning how to handle meetings with powerful people, crab at Availa Beach Old Port Inn, good beer, and his love of enjoying whatever we did together. Always a good story; always a good listener. I can only imagine how much he will be missed and offer my condolence to you who knew Harry more closely.
