I had reconnected with Jay after many years, looking him up on Facebook, finding him and surprise him with birthday wishes. We hadn't spoken for a little while as life happened and time got away from me, but I was going to be visiting in the area, next month, so I looked him up to see if he might be available to meet for a visit. I can't begin to express the hollow and painful feeling in my chest right now. He has always been larger than life...invincible. I can't believe that he has really left us. He won't be forgotten. He will always have a special place in my heart, now and always! Many blessings to his family.

Jay and I stood before our High School English class and swallowed raw eggs. It was a stunt to get attention, but clearly worked. That was Jay's MO and I'll always remember and be inspired by that shock-inducing approach.

I will miss Jay. That kick in the pants demeanor and smile that followed were endearing. He always disappeared for a time, to regroup maybe, but he always came back. It is hard to believe he is gone. I hope he finds peace.

Jay, There has always been such a special place for you in my heart and mind. My early memories as a tiny kid are of complete admiration for you which I could never hide. When ever I thought of you or heard your adventures, I felt so inspired and in awe. None of this will ever change. Every memory is such an extreme joy. So thoughtful and kind hearted to juggle fire for my birthday, bring us all snow from the mountains for Christmas mornings, show my brother and I how to break dance in the kitchen and make us feel like superstars, and to comfort me when we went above even 10 feet of elevation while camping. Then there were the times I saw you on TV bungee jumping from the Wells Fargo building, and again years later promoting your bungee company. I am so fortunate to have been around you, and every person in my life has heard my bragging tales about Jay Renneberg through the years. You are a part of so many of us. I am forever touched by you and your life Jay. You are one one of the lights in my life. We will miss you so. I love you. Amanda McBride- My love and deepest sympathy to Lana and Bob and the rest of your incredible family and friends.

Jay I have many fond memories of you as a little kid. My fondest was when you were four and correcting me on your name--"My name is Jacob Howard Renneberg." How can anyone forget that little cute kid and the astonishing young man he became. May God bless you and Love to you. Bill (Uncle Billy)
