I remember Coach Weigel very well from Barrett back in the mid 1970s (as well as Coach Berggren). I can even still remember the sound of Coach Weigel's voice. He was a fun, tough, humorous teacher, who truly seemed to enjoy his profession mentoring the kids. I stopped by Barrett a few years later to say hello, and he still remembered my name (and my nickname) even though I was just one of many hundreds of kids to pass through his classes at that time. I think that speaks volumes about him.

Rich and Roger. Your father left an impact on Carmichael, and many people were privileged to have known him. His smile and positive attitude were infectious. He will be missed. See you Friday. With Love, Eileen "Lagomarsino" Heydon

Mr. Weigel, "Big Jim" it was truly a privledge for me to have had you for a Physical Education instructor when I attended Barrett Middle School. It was a further privilege to go on and get my teaching credential and work with you at Barrett Middle School. You were tough but always fair. You made class fun and challeging with your PE Decathelon program..Your mind for statistics and following your students as they went on in their high school and college sports careers was remarkable. You brought brought "Joy" and "Happiness" and "Friendship" with you to work everyday. You were admired by all of your students and colleagues.. You will be missed by your friends and family but you have left us with many fond memories. Many are called but few are able to do the job that you were able to do. You left a deep impression on all of us!!

Dad, A day never goes by that I don't think of you and all the attributes I received from you. I think of all the times you were there to play with me as a kid. All the times you were there to watch me play. All the times you were there to support me in everything I did. Always supporting, always loving. I couldn't have had a better Dad. Thank you.

Dad, I miss you greatly. As baseball season comes in full bloom it brings back nothing but great memories of you. Little League, Seniors and teaching me how to Umpire. You will now be calling them as you them with Brother Rich with Mom in the stands.
