Jason Ballow Obituary

Jason T. Ballow
May 28, 1971 - June 14, 2012
Jason T. Ballow, 41, passed away on Thursday, June 14, at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, CA., with his parents at his side, after a courageous six month battle with esophageal cancer. Jason was born at Vandenberg AFB, CA., on May 28, 1971, the son of Arthur and Susan (Hotchkiss) Ballow.
Raised in an Air Force family, Jason also lived at Clark AB, Philippines; Minot AFB, ND; Castle AFB, CA; Incirlik AB, Turkey, and Travis AFB, CA. He graduated from Vanden High School in 1989. Jason pursued continuing education in Community College and entered the work force in retail, but his interest and talent was in computer technology. He settled in the Silicon Valley and worked for Netcom; APX, Inc. and since 2005 has worked for 8x8, Inc. of Sunnyvale, CA., last serving as a Technical Account Manager.
Jason was active in many sports throughout his life; tennis, for which he competed in numerous SCTA tournaments; volleyball; basketball; snowboarding; and wakeboarding at Lakes Berryessa or Anderson on his beloved Four Winds boat, always filled with friends. He was an avid NFL fan who loved the Forty Niners and NASCAR enthusiast who tuned in regularly to root on Jeff Gordon. Jason was a talented athlete who thrived on competition and the friendships that were formed. He also enjoyed computer gaming, cooking, camping, and travelling. Jason had an amazing sense of humor and quick wit; he loved to make people laugh and all who knew him admired his embracing life with enthusiasm, honesty, integrity, fellowship, and humor. He loved all, was loved by all and will be missed by all, but left many treasured memories. He lived life to the fullest.
Jason is survived by his parents, Arthur and Susan Ballow, of Dixon CA., and sister, Tanya Ballow, of Folsom CA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m., at the Camden Community Center, 3359 Union Ave, San Jose, CA. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 25, at 11 a.m., at the Silveyville Cemetery, 800 South 1st St., Dixon, CA. Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home is handling the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Esophageal Cancer Action Network, online at www.ecan.org or by mail to P. O. Box 243, Stevenson, MD 21153.
