HOOKS, Jason Jamaal
In Elk Grove, CA, June 15, 2010 after a brief illness age 33. Survived by beloved daughter Mikaela. Loving son of Donald and Mary Hooks. Loved brother of Andrea Tsara Hooks, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 PM and to the Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Herberger's Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA (916)686-1888. Interment to follow at Hilltop Cemetery

To the Hooks family I share my deepest condolences for your loss. I have many memories of Jason since Kerr MS. We even stayed in touch all throughout our rival yrs in HS and post graduation. He would always make me laugh and vice versa every time we chat! I´ll always remember my visits at his family home on occasions. We listen to Rap music, go on joy rides, playing video games and his pet cat "Chester." The fondest of memories is being a guest for dinner w/his family. Such very nice parents and sister Andrea. I remember him wearing the pink band displaying the birth of his daughter Mikaela and later spending time w/her during my last visit at his family´s home in 2002. Rest in power Jason, and may you´ll always be remembered!

J- Rock I sure miss the hell out of you for the last month I have been going to your grave sight to bring you flowers and to talk to you but lately I have been having troubles get down to see you, Man I wish you were still here I wish you could tell me me that I'm doing the right things in my life and to keep me out of trouble. Jason truly was the best friend I ever had. We spent just about every day together during our days at Joseph Kerr. I still have the fondest memories of our adventures back then. Loosing you is like loosing my own brother. You are truly one of a kind and your place in my heart can never be replaced. Why did this have to happen to such a great person, I can't even stop the tears from flowing down my face. My heart goes out to your family, I hope they are dealing with this the best they can, I can't imagine how hard it must be to accept. Wow, I've never lost a true friend before, my life will be changed forever. Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.

I am shocked to hear this. I remember running track with Jason in Jr. High, and playing B-Ball with him in High School. My heart goes out to the Hooks family. Jason your memory's will live on.

I remember playing basketball with him during our high school years. He was always a very nice person and had a great smile that seemed to just brighten everyone's day. I am very sad to hear of your loss. My condolences to his family and friends.
