Jeremy Hollis

1948 - 2018

Jeremy Hollis of Sacramento passed away March 17, 2018, after a brief illness. Jeremy was born October 19, 1948, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Sidney and Rose Hollis. He graduated from Central High School in Omaha and Antioch College in Ohio and earned a master's degree in education from San Francisco State University. He was the beloved husband of Laurel Hollis, doting father to their two daughters Sydney and Emma Hollis, all of Sacramento, and the brother of Gordon Hollis of Los Angeles. He was predeceased by his brother Danny Hollis. Jeremy began his career in retailing and managed a Joseph Magnin department store in San Francisco before switching to commercial real estate. He worked for Cushman & Wakefield in San Francisco and then moved to Sacramento, where he worked for developer David Taylor and CB Richard Ellis before concluding his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' real estate division. Jeremy was very active in the community. He served as president of the American River Parkway Foundation and Congregation B'nai Israel. At B'nai Israel, he served on the Board of Trustees for 10 years and was project manager for the reconstruction of the temple's sanctuary in 2005. Memorial service will be held noon Wednesday, March 21, at Congregation B'nai Israel, 3600 Riverside Boulevard, Sacramento. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
