Seguin, Texas - Jeremy D Ortiz passed away in Seguin, TX with his wife by his side. A Roseville, CA native and Granite Bay HS graduate, he had an amazing ability to light up a room with his larger than life personality and exceptional smile. Jeremy was a decorated Army combat soldier who served three tours of duty in the middle east. His calling was as a Drill Sergeant where he served at Ft. Jackson, SC. His leadership has been reflected in the outpouring of love and affection from the soldiers he trained. Jeremy was a devoted father, husband, and son. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Smith) Ortiz; daughters, Candice, Madyson and Brooklynn. Also, his parents Rebecca (Nieto) Festersen, Gerald Ortiz, Kimberly (Merrill) Ortiz, sister Maegan Jorgensen, brother-in-law Bentley Jorgensen, nephew Tre Jorgensen and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and fellow soldiers. He was preceded in death by his uncle Stephen Ortiz, grandparents Joe and Mary Ortiz and Ascension and Rita Nieto. Jeremy was laid to rest on August 24, 2021 with full honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life in Roseville, CA. Contact family for details.
