Sacramento, California - Our dear mother JoAnn Shepherd passed away of natural causes on March 19, 2023, on her 93rd birthday. She was a wonderful mother who brought joy to her family and friends. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the Georgetown community for many years. She always loved a party and welcomed everyone with open arms.
Born on March 19, 1930, in Spokane, Washington, she was the daughter of the late John Alex Lofgren and Ruth Matilda Lofgren.
JoAnn could accomplish anything that she set her mind too. After losing her husband in 1968, she worked as a Probation Officer and Real Estate Agent while raising her five children. In August 1990, JoAnn remarried Gordon Shepherd. JoAnn and Gordon enjoyed their time together traveling in the Model A, fishing, Jeeping, and traveling in their motorhome bus with the Bus Nuts. She and Gordon were married for over 30 years until he passed in March 2021. JoAnn loved flowers and gardening and always had fresh delicious vegetables that she shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
She is survived by her children: daughter Linda Ager and husband Art Ager, daughter Elizabeth Shultz and husband Dale Brevoort, daughter Cheryl Warner, daughter Nancy Faszer, and son John Lambeth and wife Carson Lambeth. Grandchildren: Jason, Jim, Jerome, Sophia, Emily, Jack, and Regan. Great grandchildren: Derrick, Natasha, Brianna, Mariah, Bryce, Wes, Crosby, Levi, and Mason. Great great grandchildren: Kayden and Graci.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the IOOF Hall, 6240 Main Street, Georgetown, CA 95634.
