John Samuel Francisco

December 12, 1941 - November 11, 2024

Carmichael, California - John Samuel Francisco, 82, passed away on November 11, 2024, in Carmichael, CA. Born on December 12, 1941, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a respected member of his community.

John's early education was at Holy Spirit in Sacramento, followed by attending Christian Brothers and graduating from Bishop Armstrong High School in 1959. He furthered his education at Sacramento City College. John dedicated 38 years to his career as a plumber and pipefitter with Local 447, where he also served as an instructor for apprentice training in medical gas installation.

A man of deep familial love and strong opinions, John cherished the moments he spent with his beloved wife, Barbara Francisco, whom he married in 1962 after meeting in 1960. He was a supportive father to his daughters, Kari Francisco and Marni Cady, and took great joy in coaching softball and attending the various sports and activities of his grandchildren, Mateo, Nina, Mitchell, and Spencer.

John's hobbies included traveling, golfing, and enjoying great food and drinks with friends and family. He was also a generous 30-gallon donor at the local blood bank, reflecting his giving spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Kari Francisco (Steve Litras) and Marni Cady (Brad), grandchildren Mateo, Nina, Mitchell, and Spencer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family extends special thanks to their neighbor Amy for her unwavering support.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at East Lawn on Greenback Lane in Sacramento, followed by a private burial. A reception will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the UA Local 447 Hall, 5841 Newman Ct, Sacramento, CA 95819.

If you were to look up the word "caring" in the dictionary you would know what kind of a man John was. He was a great guy who would do what he could to help someone out.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

John is the man men wanted to be. He was smart, handsome, energetic and articulate. He was a steller provider to his family and community. Wildflower Circle was created, in part, by his hands. John could do almost anything and expected others to be useful, too. His will was unbreakable to the end. John's greatest gift is having a wife like Barbara, equal to him in all ways. Rest in peace, John, till we meet again. Doug and Candy
