Joyce Sousa Obituary

Galt, California - Mrs. Joyce Sousa, age 79, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 1, 2026, at Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center. She was born August 8, 1946, in Cement, Oklahoma, and the daughter of the late Jewel Glen Ryans and Georgie Marie.
She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Galt, CA, and was a homemaker. She and her husband, Antonio Sousa, had worked at and owned a dairy in Lodi, CA, prior to retirement. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the salon with her sister, Alice, to get their hair and nails done together.
Joyce is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Antonio Sousa, her sister Alice, and her brother Larry. She was the cherished grandmother of Jamie, Steven, Mason, and Sabrina, as well as the great-grandmother of Ricky, Jonah, and Blakely.
The service will be on January 20, 2026, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Galt, CA. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The burial will follow at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi, CA.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Lodi Funeral Home.

Oh Joyce. I really miss seeing you... time has certainly flown by. You were so much fun, loved to laugh/joke around even when you weren´t feeling the best. Rest in Heaven, my dear.
During the last conversation with her, she mentioned how much she loved her family, especially her great granddaughter that was born in her home. It seemed like a very special relationship.
