Family & Friends,
Been away for a while, been doing the grieving thing, Kim’s on my mind every Waking minute, my never-ending love for her consumes me sometimes.
Since a heartfelt conversation with a close friend last week, I’ve been inspired to “ Write “, ( Yes, I can spel ) Been putting pen to paper all of this intense love that fills me right now ( A book in the future maybe? ).
Onto upcoming happenings, EVERYBODY mark your calendars for Sept. 20th, The Sacramento chapter of the NOCC (The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition) is hosting its first annual Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer.
This is the week-end of our “17th Anniversary “, I can’t think of anything that would honor Kim more than to have a large turnout in honor of her legacy.
The event location is the UC Davis Med Center campus @ 45th & Xst.
We are planning a get together this Thurs. 08/14/08, anytime after 6:00 p.m.
McMarlo has already obtained some promotional posters & sign up brochures from the NOCC, I am going to pick up some before Thurs. I will be cooking up some Ling Cod I caught over the week-end, Tami’s bringing a salad, feel free to bring along a side.
Kudos’ need to go out to Laurie Mac, Laura, & Marlo-(McMarlo),- Kimmy’s little Angels out there makin’ it happen! ) for all the research and contacts they have made to find Fund Raising organizations we can attach our efforts to. The two that stand out are the Lynne Cohen Cancer Foundation, & the Sac-Nocc-
The Nocc just donated $14,000.00 to the UCDavis oncology team, (That’s our Favorite doctor, Andrea Sherman’s team) who may be on the threshold of a “Screening Test “

Thanks to my buddies, Mike, Tom, Flint, & Brettasaurus for getting me “Back On The Water”. The one place Kim would insist for me to be!

To my Best Friend,& Lover,
I'm feeling ya' in the music of our life baby!
From a song;
Everyday the sun comes up around her,
She can make the birds sing harmony,
Every drop of rain is glad it found her,
Heaven must have made her just for me!

What wonderful memories. When my Mom called and gave me the news, I was very sad, and remembered all the fun times at the Park, down the street. My thoughts are with the family, friends, and You Kim, God Bless. Nikki Marie (Tanko).

Dear J.B. and Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I feel so blessed that I received 3 calls from Kim in April/May. If you know Kim that was good! I talked 2 times to her. She was really missing her Mom. We were both grieving the loss of her mom and my dad. We cried and laughed about memories of our parents. We had plans to get together soon. I had kept a letter she wrote from 8th grade ... she got a kick out of me keeping the letter for so long.
The 3rd call ... I never returned. I would give anything to have returned her last call. Though Kim did not know she was ill ... I think God created an opportunity for us to talk before he took her home. The blessing for me is to know that she is with her Mom who she missed so much.
Kim's love for J.B. and her whole family was and is so great. She will look out for you and she will be with you in spirit always.

We did not have the honor of knowing Jim for a long period of time, but what time I did spend with her was never dull. Kim was always quick witted and on her toes...she had her blond moments, but made you wonder if she was just putting on an act.
She will be very missed behind the bar, my deepest sympathy to her family, loved ones and friends.

I met Kim while she was bartending at the Mushroom Lounge. She would put all the men in check with a quick comeback and I thought that was hilarious. She had a great sense of humor and was always smiling. My condolences to your entire family.
