Kristi McCall Obituary

Kristi R McCall, beloved mother, devoted grandmother and servant of Christ, left Earth to be with her late cherished son, Sean, and her Lord Jesus in Heaven on Monday, April 29, 2019. Born a redheaded Irish lass on January 9, 1945, in California to late parents Lloyd and Dorothy Rumph, Kristi leaves behind a legacy of love and family that includes every person she came into contact with. Kristi had an immeasurable capacity to connect with people and show the light of Christ through her actions, attitude and affections. Her first love was always her family, but she welcomed everyone, especially children, into her arms and heart and never let them go. In falling in love for her husband Gordon McCall, she also fell in love with his children. With the help of the Lord and the patience of a saint, she rewrote her story, at 40, to raise four children who were not hers by birth but given to her by God. Achieving a master's degree from Stanford University, she dedicated her career to protecting children. A lifelong volunteer, Kristi continued her mission by being a deacon and most recently a chaplain at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sacramento, until her untimely passing. Kristi is predeceased by her son Sean Allen; survived by her husband, Gordon McCall, her four sons, Ryan Allen, Gordon McCall, Gregory McCall and Garrett McCall, and eight grandchildren A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Good Sheppard Lutheran Church, 1615 Morse Ave., Sacramento.

Kristi was a true beacon of LOVE and LIGHT in a world that desperately needs such qualities. She gave to all her care, concern, time, and attention. We cannot comprehend the sadness your family must be feeling. She placed all of you first and foremost, and then graciously made room for others. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy, there is no other like your beloved Kristi. May her reunion with Sean be all she has hoped for and more, and may Jesus be her reward. Well done good and faithful servant, for you are already missed.

Kristi was one of the most warm hearted, loving, dedicated, devoted people it has ever been my honor and joy to know in this life. Her soul is with God in Heaven, of course, but her kind heart and strong spirit will always remain close by to comfort and watch over her beloved husband and family, because love like that never dies. It simply grows deeper and stronger with the passage of time and lives on forever in our hearts. Her heart and spirit will also live on in the memories of all of us to whom she was such an inspiration in so many ways. With love and blessings always.

My heart aches, Kristy was a special humanbeing that had an infectious Love for all. Her smile and laugh was always my favorite attribute about her. I always loved her hugs and her gift to talk and always make you feel better. I have known Kristy all my life and I will always remember her as my second Mom. I have known her since I was just a little boy. I will miss the talks we had at the McCall Cabin and your wonderful dinners you would prepare.I love you Kristy and will miss you so much. You helped make me the humanbeing I am today.
I am lighting this candle to help spread your wonderful light in this dark World. You will always be a part of me and my family. I cant say enough about how much you will be missed. You where a special person and mentor to me Kristi ,I love and Miss you so much but I know you are in the arms of our Lord and you will be there waiting with open arms when my time comes. Love and Respect. Jeff
