Lynda Cordier Obituary

Lynda Marie Cordier

November 21, 1954 - July 8, 2024

Sacramento, California - On July 8, 2024, Lynda Marie Cordier, passed away peacefully at age 69. She was at home with her beloved domestic partner, Paul Howard.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she graduated from Oakmont High School in 1972, and worked for the State of CA in many positions for 35+ years. She retired in 2006 and enjoyed travelling, dancing, bird watching & cooking in her later years.

As we say goodbye to Lynda, we reflect on a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved. She will be remembered not only for her remarkable humor, wit, and personal qualities but also for the profound impact she had on her friends and to all she met on her travels at home and abroad.

Lynda's memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Just as her presence enriched our lives and helped us blossom personally, her memory will drive us to be better, help others and live as full a life as she did. As she was always concerned for others, let us remember her by taking care of our own mind, body and spirit the best way we can.

Lynda is survived by her mother Gloria Swerdlow, her brothers, Bob, Cliff, Greg and Brian, and her sister Liz.

So sorry to hear of Lynda's passing. For our 4 years at Oakmont High School, she and I had lockers right next to each other and pretty much got to briefly chat daily. She was always kind & considerate with nice a smile. Will miss her very much.

I worked with Lynda, and she always had a very pleasant disposition. She would get so excited to come into the office and parade with an elaborate and unique costume for Halloween... "Glenda the Good Witch" was the best!

Condolences to the family.

I want to send my prayers and condolences to Lynda's family. I met Lynda when we worked for General Services typing publication orders. She was the nicest person I ever met. She always made me laugh. She was very kind and caring making me feel part of the group on my first day. Then we both went to work for EDD. Everyone there loved her because she was so much fun. I remember her laugh and how her eyes showed so much life and knowledge. She was one of a kind and I know everyone she met and knew her, will miss her greatly. Normally, people say rest in peace. Lynda is not resting. She is in heaven meeting and greeting like she always does. I will miss you girl!
