Margie HAWKINS Obituary
HAWKINS, Margie
Passed away January 1, 2011 at the age of 87. During World War II she worked in the shipyards in San Francisco Bay Area. After the war, she continued as an electrician working on airplane control panels for the Air Force, where she won numerous awards for her work. She was a dedicated member of the Valley Community Church, where she leaves many friends. She was preceded in death by Raymond E. Hawkins, husband of 32 years and brother Frederick Turner of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is survived by her son Ernest Hawkins and daughter-in-law Patricia Hawkins of Elk Grove, CA, grandsons Anthony Mark Hawkins of Sacramento, CA, Gary Michael Hawkins and wife Tina of Elk Grove, CA, her great-grandchildren Amanda, Alex, Ryan and Sean, her brother Odell Turner of Stringtown, Oklahoma as well as several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 4 - 7pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Park.

As her letter carrier for over 11 years, she always brought a smile to me whenever I spoke to her. She was a sweet dear lady and will be greatly missed.

I express my profound condolences to the Hawkins family. We were gifted to know Margie and were neighbors for several years on Point Reyes Way. This lady was a Legend in the Neighborhood, and so she will remain in Our Hearts!
