Marnie retired after nearly 30 years with the County of Sacramento. Marnie loved her job and loved her retirement even more. Marnie is survived by her son Lee, daughter, Debra, son-in-law Victor and 2 very rambunctious cats. We all miss Marnie more than words can describe. Marnie was born and raised in Sacramento and graduated from her beloved C.K. McClatchy Senior High School after attending Newton Booth Elementary and California Middle School. Marnie was outspoken and funny, and once you were her friend you had made a friend for life.

Marnie, I hope were able to feel your relatives love that originally make the quilts, that I had the pleasure to repair. I often imagined you curled up in one of them, reading a book. Deb & Lee-I'm sorry for your loss.

Lee
I am sorry to hear about your mom. I know she appreciated all you did for her. I think of you two often as a pass by your street, looking for your red car, as I venture off to Peet's for my daily coffee.

Mom--You know how much I loved you and I know so many others loved you too. I try not to cry as much as I did, and reach a point that I can remember you simply with joy. You left us much too soon but with memoriesd to last a lifetime.

Dear Lee and Debra
I am so sorry to learn that Marnie is gone. I have so many happy memories of working with her. She and I had good conversations about primroses, kitties, people - probably not politics. The thing about Marnie besides her humor and her utmost compassion for her clients, is that she always knew stuff - she knew when things were going to happen at work - before they were ever official. I don't know how she did that!
So many warm and wonderful memories are flooding my heart.
You both are in my heart.
with love,

Pat Joyce

Mr. Lee and Miss Debra, I am absolutely saddened to learn of your mom's passing. She was VERY outspoken and funny, for that she shall be dearly missed. I shall miss her tremendously as she had befriended me over the years, as her letter carrier, with many treats to share with my family. Bless your family at this time of sorrow.

Debra and Lee, I was sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I know you will miss her daily but your memories will keep her close to your heart. Blessing to you and your family.
Debra, I found this poem and from the stories you have told me about your mom I think it's fitting for her passing (A Memorial poem by Henry Scott Holland)

All Is Well
Death is nothing at all; I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always use
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household world that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.
