Marshall Serna Obituary
SERNA, Marshall "Marcelo"
Born April 12, 1948, Marcelo passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, March 9, 2004. Marcelo was a Vietnam War Veteran and earned a Silver Star for his courage, service, and honor. He was recognized by the U.S. Marine Corps as a man of Distinguished Gallantry. Marcelo, a longtime resident of Sacramento moved to Los Angeles four years ago to manage Latinos Recovery Home, a home for individuals afflicted with alcohol and drug abuse. Marcelo, himself in recovery for almost 14 years, is survived by his spouse Reina Serna, his stepsons Edward & Ricardo, his two daughters Yvonna & Laurie, and his extended family and friends. Service will be held on Sunday, March 14 from 5pm - 6pm, and viewing from 6pm-8pm at Guerra Y Gutierrez located at 5800 E. Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA 90022. Phone: (323) 722-1900. You are the best grandpa in the world.I'm going to miss you.Thank you for the pinball machine.I'm proud to be your grandson.I read the article about you.Were you realy 17 when you were in the marines?It's great that you got the silver star and purple hearts.We read some of the pages of the book THE MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS.How did the machine gun break?It's great how you saved three people's lives.
Did you like the marnies?It's great to know that we have a real hero in our family.I love you and i will miss you.See you in heaven one day.Don't fly to high with those
