I remember Martin as a neighborhood playmate... we used a B52 inner tube as a trampoline, and a parachute to help our imaginations take flight.

I am at a loss for words.
One of my best friends from our parent´s Air Force days is gone.
I waited too long too seek old dear friends.
My sincerest condolences to George and Martin´s wife and extended family and friends.
Our families and a couple others were " military family".
Rest in peace old friend.

It is now many years later, and I looked up Martin to let him know that his good friend from the past, Mac McKay, had passed away. I was so sad to find that Martin had passed away as well. I just found a treasure trove of letters Martin and his then wife Prudence sent to us over the course of several years. I have many fond memories, and he was such a sweet and smart guy. I also remember a particularly vicious game of Risk! :-) I know he is missed by all his close friends.

There was a pizza restaurant not far from Nurnberg American high school that was frequented by Martin, myself and others periodically. We were not supposed to go there, but we liked that place anyway. When I last saw Martin in Las Vegas, Nevada he mentioned when he went there it seemed the Beatles song, Hey Jude, was playing. He told me ever since then when he heard the song it reminded him of that restaurant. Now every time I hear that song it reminds me of Martin. I play it frequently.

Whenever I recall my time in Nurnberg, Germany in the late 60's, Martin always comes to mind. He was one of the friends who defined my time there. Then to have been able to hook back up with him for a visit in Las Vegas in the very late 90's was a deep joy. He was a very sweet man.
Damn, wish I had stayed in closer touch.

Martin - you were a wonderful son-in-law and brother-in-law. Memories of you are very happy ones. We will always cherish those memories and the joy you left behind. You have been, and will continue to be, missed in our lives. George and family - you are in our thoughts and prayers.
With love - Judith
