September 29, 1972 - March 9, 2021
Sacramento, California - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Marty, Martin Roy McGovern, on March 9, 2021. Marty was born on September 29, 1972, in Sacramento, CA. He attended Mira Loma High School and later studied business at CSU Sacramento. Marty had a life-long passion for dirt bikes, and loved everything about the sport. He extended his amazing sense of humor and generosity to all that he met. He had a love for animals, from his pack of dogs to his beloved pet pig Meatball. Marty especially adored his wife, Melanie, his partner of over twenty years.
Marty will be so deeply missed by all that knew him. Marty is preceded in death by his father, Roy McGovern Sr. and Uncle Stacey McGovern. He is survived by his wife; Melanie, mother; Sue, stepfather; John, siblings; Shannon, Roy, Andrea, and Emily, niece and nephews; Steven, Madeline, Connor, Benjamin, and Vance. Marty will be so missed by all members of the McGovern, Shellooe, Anderson, and Medcalf families, and by his wide network of friends and colleagues.
