Mary Vatalaro Obituary

Mary Lou Alys Vatalaro
April 1, 1940 - June 22, 2021
Citrus Heights, California - Mary Lou (Cecchettini) Vatalaro was born April 1, 1940 and passed away June 22, 2021, at age 81. She is survived by her loved and loving husband of over 57 years, Ralph, children Melissa (Eric), Ralph, Jr. (Barbara), and Cynthia (Seth), grandchildren Sarah and Daniel Lendl and Cameron Townsend; sister Shelby Cecchettini, beloved cousins Mary Anne Chivaro, Therese Simpson, Sandra Cecchettini and lifelong best friend Bonnie Phillips. She was preceded in death by her beloved and never forgotten grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mary Lou loved family, friends, neighbors and fun. Her sense of humor and her laughter were memorable and will be sorely missed. She was a great conversationalist and always on the side of the underdog, the bullied, the marginalized, and supported many organizations that provided for them. Please remember those people and creatures in your prayers and your support.
All are invited to a memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Rose Catholic Church in Roseville, California, August 6, 2021, 10:30 am.

Condolences to the family again. I hope.
I was signing the guest book and telling how important and wonderful Mary Lou was and how much she meant to me. That the person I became was of the friendship we shared. When we met she was 18 and I was 19. My mom was really ill and dying. Mary Lou touched my heart then and ever more. She was meant to be there for both of us.
THEN Poof! I touched something and my heartfelt condolences were gone. I can hear Mary Lou laughing now.

Mary Lou was/is one of kind and I will dearly miss her. I know she´s there waiting for me, along with my son Scott.
Blessings.

To my dear friend Shelby Cecchettini, and her wonderful family. We know you all will miss her very much as you were so close and spent lots of special times together. I especially remember the Easter at your house, Shelby, when we spent some very nice time chatting with Mary Lou & Ralph. She was indeed a very nice person and it was so special to see what a close bond you two had. We wish you all a Peaceful transition with Love, from The Castles - Judy, Bill, & Jason

Mary Lou was my wonderful mother in law. She loved her family very much... Mary Lou enjoyed all of the holidays, especially Halloween, and decorated so beautifully for all of them. Some of those decorations were handmade by her and are cherished. She was fun to spend time with and I am going to miss her very much.

I worked with Mary Lou for 5 years. She was one of the best workers. I thought of her from time to time.
