My Uncle Max was always my hero. To have flown so many combat missions in WWII and Vietnam and survive is amazing, especially the missions in WWII where B-17s had so many casualties. I have read several books written about the B-17 and the Spooky gunships. Uncle Max had an amazing Air Force career and I loved him dearly. I was so happy for my son Cameron to have seen him in 1990 and again in 2004. Max was an American gem. I think of him frequently and it is 2021.

Max and my cousin Dorothy (My mother Ruth West Catt's neice) came to visit us a few times in Colorado & visited mom in Tucson AZ. As busy as they were they always had time to visit family. I found that Max was born in Southern Colorado which I did not know until now. I'm glad they kept in touch with MOM. It meant a lot to her
