Melvin Ball Obituary

Melvin J. Ball
October 1, 1948 - December 29, 2022
Citrus Heights , California - Melvin J. Ball,
74, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Citrus Heights, CA. He was born to Awon Ball and May Ball (Lucas) in Sacramento, CA in 1948. Mel graduated from Encina High School in 1966 and was a proud Plymouth Trouble Shooting award winner at the Marconi Technical Center.
Mel served in the Air Force from 1968 until he retired in 2002 as an Airforce Reservist. Mel also worked over 25 years as a mechanic for Sacramento County. He had a passion for cars, particularly his 1934 Five Window Coupe which was featured in Rod & Kulture Magazine in 2016. Mel also enjoyed watching baseball and had a new found joy for square dancing. He had a love for sweets and loved any opportunity to gather with family or close friends. Mel was an incredibly kind and loving son, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a very easy going spirit and enjoyed working on cars with his sons and watching his grandchildren play sports. Mel was preceded in death by his son Mitchell Ball. He leaves behind two sons Mathew (Laura), Brett (Becky), and his four grand children Zayne, Laynee, Carter, and Henry.
Family and Friends are welcome to attend Mel's celebration of life on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m at the Veterans Memorial Hall, located at 110 Park Drive in Roseville, CA.

Going to miss you Mel. Talking about cars, and things we did in the Air Force. Hope to see you and and your 34 Coupe again. You are the reason we live in CA. Thanks for being our friend. R.I.P.

We are so, so saddened to hear of Mel´s passing. We became friends with him about 15 years ago when we all stood in line early at the casino´s buffet. Sounds funny but we had an hour wait every Wednesday so we all got to be friends and ate together too. We would love to attend his memorial. Our heart and prayers go out to his family with this huge loss! Russ and Cindy Walters
