Nanalee Baldwin-Wilke Obituary

Nanalee Baldwin-Wilke was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal cancer just nine short weeks ago. After her short illness Nan passed away at the young age of 68 on August 13, 2018 in Elk Grove. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we thank God she did not suffer a long illness. Nan was born in Sacramento in 1950. She was the youngest of three children born to Edna and Peter Leonetti. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and by her oldest brother, Jerry Leonetti. Nan cared for her mother in her own home during her mom's final years. Nan will be remembered always and greatly missed by surviving family: her husband of 36 years, Jim Wilke; her three children, Lanette Hightower, Kendra Wilke, Mark Wilke; her brother, Michael Leonetti and his family; and by 5 grandchildren: Jazmine, Christian, Abigail, Austin, Riley. Nan was looking forward to the addition of her first great grandchild to be born this coming November. Nan was a gentle and caring person totally devoted to her family. She was quiet until she wasn't...when she spoke everyone listened. She could be bold and strong when required even though she was humble, grateful, soft-spoken and kind. Nan was talented, gifted, honest and a joy to be around and always doing for others. In her final days Nan was so concerned her illness was letting her family down. Dear sweet Nanalee, you let no one down. Your family wishes they could have done more for you. Private family only services were held on August 16, 2018 at Elk Grove Funeral Chapel in Elk Grove. Nan is now resting in peace in the indoor Mountain View Mausoleum at East Lawn Memorial Park in Elk Grove. Her family asks that remembrances be sent in Nan's name to the American Cancer Society.

Nan was so gentle and kind, caring more for her family than her own interests or comfort. She had a way of expressing her point of view lovingly, quietly, peacefully, and the advice offered was always sound. She called us the the kiddos and treated me as if I was her own son, and for that I am truly grateful. She will never be forgotten.
